Who this guide is for
This itinerary is for a couple visiting Goa for the first time who want a balance of beach relaxation, local food, and a few sightseeing spots. It avoids the party scene and focuses on the more relaxed side of Goa.
North vs South Goa
Goa is divided into North and South — each with a distinct character.
North Goa (Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator) — busier, more developed, more affordable, party-heavy in season. Better for nightlife and backpacker travel.
South Goa (Palolem, Agonda, Colva, Benaulim) — quieter, cleaner beaches, upscale resorts, more relaxed atmosphere. Better for couples and honeymooners.
This itinerary uses South Goa as the base with a day trip to North Goa.
